Brick 3 Pizza

4 out of 5

If you are looking for great New York style pizza with a twist.....this is the place for you!  Highly recommend the BBQ chicken & bacon pizza.  The pies are huge!   Come ready to eat or a great idea for a Packers game!  My 2 year old also loves the mac & cheese pizza.  Great pies for everyone's taste!

Tenuta's

Tenuta's (in Bay View)

4.5 out of 5

This place is a hidden gem!  A couple of my members at the country club have been raving about this small corner bar Italian restaurant in Bay View.  Bay view is starting to grow with many great restaurants on it's resume.

Tenuta's has the feel of a local corner bar set into a residential neighborhood, but don't let that throw you off.  This place has an amazing Italian feel with dim lighting and tables right on top each other.  The only things that this cozy restaurant is missing a corner booth for the boss.

So I decided to order the veal marsala after many food sources saying how good it was.  The veal was a little tough but the marsala sauce and sprinkle of fresh basil with the homemade fettuccine noodles was unreal!  Extremely delicious!!!

My beautiful wife ordered the Ravioli di Funghi.  I am still thinking about this dish the next morning.  Could be the best pasta dish that I have ever had!  The mixture of fresh mushrooms, shallots, and fresh basil paired with a marsala cream sauce was simply stunning!  My wife says the kicker was the sun-dried tomatoes and spinach.  I couldn't agree more!  This dish was just that good!

We will be back very soon!  Anyone want to come with?

Cafe Benelux

Cafe Benelux   4 out of 5

A MUST GO!!!!!

My wife and her sister and husband decided on a beautiful day to grab a little lunch downtown at Cafe Benelux.  This is a must go hot spot!  If it's a sunny day ask to sit up on the roof.  You get a decent look at downtown Milwaukee and a nice cool breeze.  To start, I ordered a Stinking Rose Bloody Mary!  It is garlic-infused vodka with all the fixings.  Very delicious!    Time to order lunch and the "Sprocket" burger caught my eye.  Anything that is cooked in duck fat....I'm in!  The Burger consisted of a pretzel bun with a 1/2 pound prime beef, bacon, duck fried egg, tomato jam and garlic aioli.  Very messy but very good!!   Overall the menu looked amazing!  I always wish my stomach was a little bigger than it is.

Jake's Steakhouse in Brookfield

Jake's Steakhouse 3.5 out 5

So my wife and I decided to try Jake's Steakhouse in Brookfield for my birthday dinner.  Growing up, my parents frequently dinned here and they always came home with the leftover haystack onions rings!  So going into our dinner I was excited to try them again.  They must have changed their recipe because it was not the same onion rings that I remember.  We also ordered the daily special of oven roasted oysters.  VERY GOOD!  My wife ordered a 6 oz. filet.  She enjoyed it very much!  I ordered the 6 oz filet and scallops.  The steak was cooked to perfection, but the scallops were a little over-done for my taste.  All in all a great experience and hope to get back there in the future!

Trocadero 4.5 out of 5

To back date a little bit, I took my wife and a lot of others to Trocadero for her 30th Birthday party back in October. I have nothing by high remarks about their service and food.

I made the reservations via Twitter and was taken care of very easily.

If you are a bloody Mary fan, which we both are, this is the place for you. I ordered the "Gloreosa" Bloody and was not disappointed. They mix garlic infused vodka with a delightful array of spices to make the absolute masterpiece!

I was turned on to their red-curried mussels cooked in coconut milk with garlic and a touch of mint for an appetizer. They were fantastic!

To continue my garlic themed night, I enjoyed the Triple Garlic Burger! Luckily we went out for many drinks after otherwise the wife wouldn't have been happy with the odor that followed me around for sometime.

We have been back a couple times now and planning on continuing our visits to Trocadero!

Thanks guys!

Mimmas Cafe 2.5 out of 5

For the fans of the hit NBC Show "The Office", you guys will love this place. I recently took my wife to Mimmas Cafe on Brady Street the other night and we were not a short of laughs with our server, Will. Dwight Schrute is alive in Milwaukee! Will happened to put on a great display of the colorful character with his antics and humor.

The food:
The menu was huge with a lot of different options. There were too many specials to follow during Will's rambling. It was similar to Will Ferrall in Old School when he blacks out during the debate scene. I ordered the Ravioli. Great portion and great flavor. The wife ordered some fettuccine in a light cream sauce. Both dishes were very good.

The service was lacking a little professionalism. Although"Dwight" was great and always there to serve us, the water boy forgot what was in the olive oil and was very creepy walking from table to table. Mimma looks to be out of the kitchen and behind the hostess table. Lets just say she needs to go back into the kitchen and make her magic happen. She had a little trouble working the reservations on the computer and look flustered all night.

Overall it was good experience but if we were to go back, we would have to sit in "Dwight's" I mean Will's section again! He was spot on!
